Built for two moments
Qiao means bridge. Most introductions here begin with one of these two moments.
01 — Language exchange
EN ⇄ 中文You’re learning Chinese; they’re learning English. Or you simply want to keep another language alive. Add language exchange to your profile, find a patient partner, and switch this whole site between English and 简体中文 whenever you like.
Find a language partner02 — Travelling in China
China · East AsiaTravelling through China or East Asia? Browse people by city, see who shares your interests, and ask for an introduction before you arrive — or while you’re already there. The QR holder always decides whether to connect.
Meet people while travellingAcross the bridge
Local hosts, travellers, language partners and founders who have chosen to be found.

Hi, there. I am Chinese working in Hong Kong now. I am doing my postdoc training and running my own company. I developed the QIAO app with deepseek in one day just for fun. haha

Start with a spark
From late-night ramen to early runs, find the thread that starts a real conversation.
ExploreWeChat etiquette, by design
Qiao follows the rhythm of a good WeChat introduction: a little context, a clear yes, then the QR. Nothing is shared until the holder agrees.
Explore opted-in profiles by city, language, interest or purpose. Browsing is open; contact details are not.
Send a short introduction and choose a purpose. A thoughtful request is easier to answer than a bare hello.
If they accept, their contact QR becomes available privately for that connection. They can revoke access at any time.
Privacy is the product
Only the profile fields you explicitly publish are public. Your email, private QR and uploads never appear in the directory. We do not scrape WeChat, automate friend requests or create public QR pages.
We never scrape, automate or act on WeChat for you.
Whether you’re learning a language, landing in a new city, or simply curious about the other side, start with a thoughtful introduction.
Join Qiao18+ only. Built for considered introductions, not endless swiping.
